ALL Age-Based DIVISIONS
:
The Rush Line (a.k.a. Blitz Line) will be 10 yards from the line of scrimmage.
SNHFFL recommends, but does not require, the use of mouth guards.
Each team has three 30-second timeouts per game.
SNHFFL does not eliminate the "No Run" zones nor disallow rushing the passer in the 8U division.
One offensive coach is allowed to remain on the field, behind the play, after the snap. This coach must remain stationary for the duration of the play and may not speak to their players during the play (they may speak to their players during the play from the sideline).
If the score is tied at the end of regulation time, the game will end in a tie (regular season). During the postseason a winner must be determined, and we will follow this process:
A coin toss will occur, called by the visiting team. The winner may choose offense or defense. Teams alternate order of offense & defense in each round.
Teams will alternate PAT's in each round, and the team on offense may elect to go for 1 or 2.
If the score remains tied after both teams possess the ball, the teams alternate order of offense/defense and play another overtime round.
In the 3rd round and beyond, teams must go for 2.
If a defensive score in OT puts that team ahead, the game ends.
There are no timeouts in any overtime round.
All teams make the playoffs, and "points scored" or "point differential" will never be used in our standings or for tiebreakers. Thus there is no incentive to ever run up the score.
The NFL FLAG
Mercy Rule
/
Scrimmage Mode
is modified such that the losing team may choose to play offense or defense, or alternate for the remaining time. This allows the coach and team to work on whichever unit they need to practice the most. Further, the play will be whistled dead if the winning team intercepts the ball during scrimmage mode. Both coaches should utilize the scrimmage time to practice while maintaining a priority on sportsmanship. For example, if the losing team has struggled with blitz pressure then it's probably not a good idea to continue to blitz your faster players.
No foul language or profanity is a loud. If a player or coach uses foul language or profanity they will be removed from the game. Zero tolerance.
Unsportsmanlike like conduct will not be tolerated. Example: Throwing a pulled flag on purpose away from the player or taunting of a player. Just drop the flag. The player will be removed from play. Respect all players, coaches and officials.
